Gooooood did drawing this bring back memories. I sound so old saying that.
Anyways, *Marureenu (yes, it's always her. blame her for ANYTHING XD) recently started a Persona 4 girls series, and it looked like so much fun that I wanted to start a picture series myself. I wasn't sure what fandom to choose, but then I suddenly thought of the very first shoujo manga that I ever read and how much I looooooved it and cried while reading it.
Said manga is Fushigi Yuugi. Which is soooo ridiculous in the best way possible. I think I would still like it even if I read it again ten years from now. FY was the first manga that made me start drawing seriously, so of course I have to pay a tribute to its wonderfulness somehow, since I never drew any proper fanart for it!
Anyway, tl;dr - this deviation marks the beginning of my Fushigi Yuugi characters picture series. First up is Tamahome. (: I hope you like! And just so you know, I left the pencil sketch in there because I personally like the effect.

I'm amused! I used to really love this Manga, too!
Tamahome was so laid-back, yet had this wild aura to him, and you portrayed it SO well! I love that you made him lean on the Kanji (is it...?)! He's just so relaxed and hot like that 8'D man, this brings back so many good memories, thank you for that!
His hair came out great - That ponytail! And just the whole outfit in general. Very detailed and awesome! ;A; You did a really good job on it! I love the whole vest thingie, and how it's falling so naturally down there!
Colors are really nice too! *_* It's actually really great to see a colored Tamahome >u< I've never seen the anime!
and dem folds in his trouser...where it's going into his boots! Realistic! Feels definitely like fabric! *A*
